Best performance? |
My
best overall performance – is still against Mountain
Ash in 1997!! Scored my best ever score 67 (including
an eighth wicket partnership with Andy Hood of 81) then
took 3 for 9.
Or 6 for 20odd when very hungover for Baltonsborough.
The best team performance (20overs) – Winning
the Willow cup 2019 (including my 500th wicket)
|
Favourite game
played? |
Too
many … the Pumpsaint (2002 tour) – is still
a favourite – hitting a 6 out of the ground and
onto the road to impress a newly found female friend;
may now be surpassed by the win at Barry Wanderers in
2015 – where Wands needed 15 off 4 overs with
4 wickets remaining and we got them all out with 5 balls
left.
2022 tour - the introduction of "in Play chips"
- Huntley - the first Duck chip was awarded |
Favourite venue
played …ever? |
Our old
ground at st Mellons (now Lisvane) - veru nice with the
new facilities; plus many of the tour games we have played
at - Purley-on-Thames; Huntley; Down Hatherley; Sparsholt
- all with pavallions and bars |
Cricketer you
most admire and why? |
Ian Botham,
good bowler and batter, yet knows how to balance cricket
with beer. |
Casual cricketer
you most admire and why? |
It
is difficult to overlook Foxy – who is still playing
in his mid-80s. In 2019 vs Malpas scored more in one
innings than he had this millennium. Ability wise –
I find it annoying how Jesus can make batting look so
easy and all the time in the world |
Funniest moment
on the Casuals field? |
There
are funny moments every time the Cazh take to the field…however
ones that stand out are:
Ash missing the run out from 2 yards v Barry Wands (the
same 2015 match as best win); Rob Chase giving John
Furnham out when John was on 99 against Amersham in
the early noughties after he hit it.
Steveo duck chip on the 2022 tour
|
Favourite tour
moment? |
The
first tour I attended - Pumpsaint Aug 1997- the village
embraced our arrival by holding a house party after
hours and an accommodating host
First tour of Winchester 2011 – playing against
a Fat Leo Sawyer on the Saturday, then playing a very
good Sparsholt team on the Sunday and managing to steel
victory with a reversed batting order and excellent
opening bowling which took them by surprise (especially
given the state we were in)

Favourite Tea
had as a casual? (Home or Away) |
Pentyrch
– is always good, as is Rogerstone |
I like playing
for the casuals because………. |
Since
joining in 1996 there has always been a great team spirit,
comradery and everyone chips in. I’ve made some
great friends. |
I hate playing
for the casuals because………… |
There
are too many players playing for their average....really??!!
(no) |
If I didn’t
play so much cricket I’d be………. |
Forced
to go to shopping and be bored |
