Match Report vs CMA 16th
June 2026 @ Bryn-y-Don (Skipper Steveo, Report Liam
F)
Another game in the Cup for the Casuals and only a week on
from a 125 run loss to the CMA the casuals were in good spirits
with plenty of enthusiasm and hope. As everyone slowly arrived
from there days work Steve O had tossed and we were batting
first and for some reason only bowling from one end for the
first 9 overs.
In to open the batting for the causals was Jack B and Liam
F. Starting of pretty slow and aghast a decent bowling attack
but with Extras leading the way Liam F was out first bowled
out for 10 leaving the Casuals 40-1. Up next was Rhys looking
to get in on the action. Sadly this partnership didn’t
last and Jack was caught out for a very respectable 23 in
tough conditions. In at 4 was Greg C who was shortly dismissed
for 2, followed by Has, who fell without scoring. The bowler
proved particularly effective, finishing with three wickets
for his side. Huzaifa added 4 before being dismissed, who
also accounted for SteveO, leaving Casuals in an increasingly
difficult position. At 74 for 5. Rhys was dismissed for 18,
followed by SteveO, Joe and Goff, all falling without adding
to the score. Dan remained unbeaten on 1, but Nadders was
the final wicket to fall for 1, leaving Casuals stranded on
85 all out.

Greg Cavanagh 2

Huzaifa Ijaz 4

Dan made an immediate impact, taking two wickets for just
six runs from his two overs. Nadder also claimed two wickets,
conceding 13 runs, while Has picked up one wicket for seven
runs. Huzaifa and Rhys also contributed with a wicket apiece,
with Liam adding another important breakthrough. The bowling
effort was supported by some useful fielding, with Jack, Has,
Dan and Goff all taking catches and Jack also a stumping.
Despite the regular wickets, Cardiff Malayalee managed to
reach 86, with 31 extras making a significant contribution
to their final total.
