Match Report vs Cross
Keys and Ponymister 09 May 2021 @ Pontymister (Skipper
and Report Rob)
On a cold, dark day in May. The Cazh descended on Cross Keys
hoping that a game might be played following on from recent
rained off fixtures.
The skipper (Rob) lost the toss but P&CKs put the Cazh
in to bat even though it was looking likely only one team
were going to field that day.
Tesh and Martin started well, with Tesh (15) falling in the
5th over, chipping one up to mid-on. Will, coming in at three,
got going quickly and put on a good partnership with Martin,
getting to 94/1 at the drinks break.
As we resumed the rain started to fall. In the 22nd over,
Will poked one back to the bowler - out for 40 off 52 balls.
Sam managed to get 1 run before the rain started, with the
covers going on.
Will started doing his rain dance, which is a bit like backing
the Grand National winner on Channel 4+1 as the rain was well
set and getting heavier.
After standing about in the rain for a bit, the match was
called off, leaving Martin stranded on his top Cazh score
of 27 not out. A quick pint in the rain, and homeward bound.
