Match Report vs Chartered
Trust 11 May 2017 @ Wenvoe (Skipper and report Dan)
With previous downpours and thunder all around, the decision
to play was put in the court of both teams – the verdict
to give it a go...and apart from a splattering of light drizzle
it was the right move.
Trust won the toss, and decided to bat with reduced overs
to 18. Dan and Dave opened the bowling and were unlucky not
to get a break through. There were a few miss hits and a couple
that got through narrowly missing the stumps. After 8 overs
Trust had reached 46 runs for 0. Rob and Richie took over
and Trust looked to increase the run rate. There were chances
in the field, though most were just out of reach. The first
(and only wicket was taken via a run out from Kim in the outfield
to Richie – who almost turned and threw down the stumps
from 3 yards – fortunately he stepped up to the stumps
and took the bails off with the batsman very close to making
his ground. The batmen continue to hit the ball hard and ball
skidding off the pitch, the ball reaching the ditch on a few
occasions. A few injuries were sustained in the field, though
not from necessarily from being hit, bar Saint who took one
on the hand. Ollie and Tesh had a couple of overs at the end
and Dan bowled his 4th last over. The opening batsman reached
an agonising 99 not out. Trust finished on 175-1.
Dan 4-0-27-0
Dave 4-0-24-0
Rob – 4-0-35-0
Rich – 3-0-40-0
Ollie – 2-0-32-0
Tesh -1-0-17-0
A tough ask to chase down this total, but Tesh and Big Willy
opened the batting against some accurate bowling to start
with. Tesh (10) was first to fall against the first change
bowler – caught at mid on. A few wides later, Will (2)
was also out bowled. 19-2. Kim and Ollie now at the crease
looked to stabilise and then push on. Both looked assured,
until Ollie (11) yorked himself and was bowled. An injured
Britpop in next put on the biggest partnership of 35 with
Kim, including a big 6 in to Penelope’s garden. Darren
was eventually out (11) caught. 73-4 off 12overs. Steveo innings
was a little short, though did make it past all the bets,
run out by direct hit for 2. Dan smeared a 4 into the ditch,
before nicking one to the keeper (4). Richie (10no) and Kim
(38no) saw the innings to a close 124-6. Extras was the second
highest scorer with 35.

A good game and well persevered by the Casuals and well
played by Trust, then off to the pub for a well earned pint.
