Match Report vs CBBies 6 August 2015 @ Wenvoe (Skipper Kim, report Goff)

W envoe the venue for this 20/20 special. An
E vening in which we had just experienced an extraordinarily

F eeble Australian test match batting performance against an
U nderstrength England bowling attack.
C bb's lost the toss and were asked to bowl.
K im opened. Keen to forget the prior events of the day with
E d the cheese who was keen to help him get over the most
D isasterous Australian Ashes performance in the history of the game.

T wenty eventful overs later, we had amassed a
H ealthy 180 runs for the loss of only 4 wickets. Our depressed Marsupial shagger got to 90,
E d the cheese - 22, Rob contributed a swift 8.

A nd the Messiah added another 21 to his season's tally and unbeaten to boot.
U nusually, even Steve O managed to get into double figures!
'S ixty' was to play an interesting part in proceedings as
S hakes (scoring), got his numbers
I n a bit of a mix up and by an
E xtraordinary coincidence, led the applause for Kim's
S core reaching 60 (instead of the more traditional 50) which was

A mazingly, the same pathetic score the Aussie's managed to
S crape to in the test match at Trent Bridge, before being dismissed earlier in the very same day!
H owever, on to the oppo's attempt at chasing down our 180. Not very often said but we actually bowled and fielded
E xceptionally well! The early overs
S aw Goffy bowl a couple and Pabs getting a couple caught.

I n for a couple was also DT who
N eatly bowled one of their openers and the only one who put up any sort of resistance.

T aking the other wickets were Pete OB1 (who bagged 2) and Dan who clean bowled 1
H appy to report that a direct hit run out also
E nsued! Steve O the instigator can you believe! CBB's all out for 88, some 28 runs more than the Aussies managed.

B oundries were very few and wickets falling at regular intervals. Just like the
A ussies who were dismissed for a measly 60 earlier.
G reat win. Great day all round. Later, a few beers at the Wenvoe. Nobody mentioned the Ashes. I may have done once.. but I think I got away with it!
