2nd February 2007 Christmas Meal (for 2006...)

After last years success at having the Christmas meal after Christmas, plus the sheer weight of food provided at the Oriental Garden (in red dragon centre where UCI is) 'eat all you can' for £14 - we were back to the same place to have a rematch between the fat and the thin teams.

This year we were minus The Horse as he has gone to the US of A to experience even larger portions...however, a few of the 'new' recruits came along (though one or two looked a bit peaky before for meal had begun). Learning from last year, the pace set was steady and a few of the Cazh were even able to get to the crispy duck before Shakey took the lot...The average number of plates fulls was up on last year at 4.75 per person.

The evening was again a triumph, though I'm not too sure that those sitting on the nearest table were too impressed with our topic of conversation - something to do with cash machines (?). Afterwards we all went off in search of a nice friendly bar for a good pint, chat and admire the local surroundings, however, options were limited partially due to Muff's bright blue trainers (something to do with fashion rather than dress code...), so we ended up in Salt. With the DJ 'pumping out' the 'latest' hits - the venue only satisfied one of the set criteria (though a few of us were more than happy with what we saw). So it was off to The Packet to enjoy a good pint and a chat...
